ABOUT BORN TO LEAD DOG TRAINING
The Leading Dog Trainer in Raleigh, NC
Welcome to the end of your search for an actual dog behavior expert here in Raleigh and not just another drone trainer telling you to walk around with a bag of treats or a shock collar. My name is Ryan Douglas and I am a father, husband and proud pit bull owner and advocate. I am the sole trainer here at Born to Lead Dog Training and I am a certified master dog trainer and dog behaviorist.Journey to Becoming a Dog Trainer and Dog Behaviorist
My journey started circa 1994 when I started reading books on aggressive dog behavior; a curiosity that was born from being bitten several times as a child from random run-ins with neighbor’s dogs and strays. By 1996 I was helping friends and local shelters with problem dogs for free. Soon thereafter I was taking on clients for part-time income. While maintaining a day job, I’d train on nights and weekends and in 2003 Born to Lead Dog Training was up and running full-time right here in Raleigh, NC.Dog Training Education
I decided to supplement my self-taught knowledge with a formal education. In 2004 I graduated from Tarheel Canine in Sanford, NC. I studied under one of the world’s leading canine trainers and completed several months of extensive, hands-on training while also running and maintaining their in-board dog training kennel. From 2006-2009 I conducted free dog training classes on the weekends at local dog parks educating owners on dog park safety. My formal education alone gave me tremendous insight into dog training and behavior. However, that combined with my years of personal experiences qualifies me as one of Raleigh’s most experienced and well-credentialed dog behavior experts available to the public.
We serve the entire Raleigh NC area. Our service area includes: Angier, Apex, Benson, Clayton, Cary, Four Oaks, Fuquay-Varina, Garner, Goldsboro, Holly Springs, Lillington, Princeton, Raleigh, Rolesville, Smithfield, Wake Forest and Zebulon.
